Position Overview

The Project Design Engineer supports engineering projects by assisting with the design and development of work products. This role involves working closely with senior engineers and Project Managers to create technical drawings, collect data, perform calculations, and participate in survey operations. The Project Design Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the engineering team and client experience.

Key Functions

  • Create detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software for residential and commercial developments
  • Provide support in the preparation of project reports and presentations
  • Perform engineering calculations

Support and Coordination

  • Work with Project Managers (PMs), the survey department, and senior staff in the design and development of projects
  • Assist PMs in coordinating project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely project delivery
  • Communicate findings and results to the engineering team

Process and Innovation

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, manuals, and technical specifications
  • Document all phases of the project, ensuring accuracy and completeness

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all work complies with company standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols
  • Conduct quality checks and reviews of work products to verify the accuracy and integrity of work
  • Implement corrective actions to address any non-compliance or quality issues
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in technology and materials

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
